Her work has received several major awards, including the Jan Campert Prize and the Culture Prize of the City of Ghent. Corpus Britney is her debut novel.
Corpus Britney is a genre-bending novel populated by doppelgängers, ghosts and visions, packed with digressions and stories within stories. Wildly associative and laced with dark humour, it follows Blla Goth, a B-movie horror actress who bears an uncanny resemblance to Britney Spears and vanishes without a trace after a day of filming.
Paranormal detective Malayney Melkzuur sets out to find her, following a trail that stretches across continents and centuries. What unfolds is a hallucinatory journey through pop culture, cyberspace horror and digital ruins, tracing the tangled histories of capitalism all the way to its algorithmically driven present.
