Denis Johnson returns to Crossing Border! Two years ago Johnson published Tree of Smoke, his first novel after a pause of almost a decade. This epic novel about the Vietnam War made great impact and won the National Book Award. After that it was time to blow off some steam - in style. Nobody Move is the result, a thriller about a couple of low-lives and a cat-and-mouse game for a few million dollars. In many aspects the complete opposite of Tree of Smoke, but equal in quality. 'As if Picasso's Guernica was followed up by Andy Warhols Soup Can', as The New York Times put it. Think of Cormac McCarthy, Raymond Chandler and Elmore Leonard, add the unbeatable dialogues of Johnson himself and there you have it: Nobody Move.
